Hello and welcome to my website. I am one of Washington State’s most experienced specialists in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). I help people to cope with anxiety and to live a healthy, balanced life. Working from a foundation of a caring and empathic therapy relationship, I can teach you scientifically supported skills to handle your life challenges more effectively. My goal is to help my clients regain their vitality and confidence through learning skills to resolve current problems and reduce troubling symptoms.

What's New
On May 10, I introduced 3 individuals to one another in a FEAR OF DEATH support group. We added four more members this summer, and agreed to meet monthly throughout 2010. We may have room for more participants. Interested people with health anxiety, panic disorder or existential dread of dying or death should call me to register. The group combines a cognitive-behavioral exposure focus with themes drawn from existential psychology. The remaining meetings will run from 6:00 to 7:30 PM on the following dates: September 20 October 11 November 8 December 13
In September, I plan to resume my support group for people with BODY-FOCUSED REPETITIVE DISORDERS (compulsive skin picking, hair pulling, etc.). It has been dormant for the last several months, following a decade or so of regular meetings. We will meet monthly from 6:00 to 7:30 on the following dates this year: September 27 October 25 November 29 December 20
In the future, I may reactivate my support group for building self-esteem, and if there is enough interest, I would also add groups for several specific phobias (heights, blood-injection-injury, enclosed spaces, vomit, etc.). Call me if you would like to participate.
Here is a list of dates for my ongoing support groups, through December, 2010. In the past I have mailed semiannual letters to group members with these dates, but will now use my website for this purpose. Feel free to phone me to inquire about groups. It's fine to drop in even if you haven't attended in some time. Please visit this page throughout the year for additional announcements, such as new support groups I will be offering.
